RESET For Growth was one for the history books with an epic lineup of global and local marketing superstars coming together for our 10-birthday anniversary. The event held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Sydney’s Circular Quay saw 565 marketing and advertising professionals gather for a day of gamechanging insights and thought provoking takeaways from six incredible sessions.

SA government consults on food & beverage ad ban on transport assets
The Government of South Australia is consulting on a proposal to restrict unhealthy food and drink, including alcohol, advertising on government property. The COAG food classification would be used to determine the food and drinks that cannot be advertised. Following the consultation, policy recommendations will be finalised for consideration by the Government of South Australia.

Privacy laws and the unintended consequences for online advertising
Director of Regulatory Affairs Megan McEwin spoke to AdNews about privacy reform and concerns the industry has if the federal government goes too far with proposed new laws to protect privacy. “While we support the vast majority of the proposed reforms, we would prefer to see targeted advertising left alone and the focus to be on restricting illegitimate collection and use of data,” McEwin says.
