Government’s AI Rules: Have Your Say
The Australian Government has proposed both voluntary and mandatory regulations to guide the use of AI in Australia. Consultations are now open for:
Voluntary AI Safety Standard which contains 10 voluntary guardrails for safe and responsible use and innovation with AI;
On September 12 2024, the Government introduced a bill with the first round of reforms coming out of the review of the Privacy Act (1988) to Parliament. These updates aim to better protect consumer’s privacy in the digital age.
The perils of AI generated advertising

AANA launches interactive online academy for marketers
The AANA has unveiled the AANA Academy, an interactive online classroom for marketers. The Academy aims to provide marketers with advanced training to help them stay abreast of industry trends, lead with confidence, and future-proof their careers.
In September, a landmark overhaul ofthe Privacy Act was delayed.
When the proposals were first announced, the AANA defended the use of targeted advertising. The industry has been left disappointed and in limbo. Others share their views.
